Specs from Husqvarna's published product data; confirm against the current spec sheet before purchase. Husqvarna's PG 5 / 6 / 8 naming replaced the older PG 450–PG 830 convention, so machines on rental floors may not match these names. Where no companion extractor is published, we'll document the pairing for you in writing.

The extractor is the compliance device

Not an accessory. Cal/OSHA's Table 1 puts the entire dust-control burden on it.

Table 1 specifies no respiratory protection for walk-behind floor grinders — at any shift length, indoors or out. It can do that because it assumes your dust collector delivers the manufacturer's recommended airflow or better, with a filter rated 99% or greater and a filter-cleaning mechanism, plus a HEPA vacuum for loose dust between passes indoors.

Miss any part of that and you don't get partial credit. You fall out of Table 1 entirely and into exposure assessment and air monitoring. It's the cheapest part of the purchase and the part that decides whether the rest of your safety paperwork means anything.

How we spec a machine with you

Four questions, in this order. It takes about ten minutes on the phone.

01

What power do you have?

Single-phase, three-phase, or none. This eliminates more of the catalog than anything else and it's the question people answer last.

02

How big are your floors?

A 31-inch machine on 400 sq ft garages is wasted capital. A 20-inch machine on a warehouse is a schedule problem.

03

Indoors or out?

Indoor work drives the extraction spec and adds the between-passes HEPA requirement. It changes the total price more than the machine does.

04

What's your concrete like?

Hard slab, soft bond. Soft slab, hard bond. Get this backwards and you'll blame the machine for a tooling problem.

Tell us about your floors. We'll spec the machine.

Power available, typical job size, indoor or outdoor, and what your concrete is like. That's everything we need to point you at the right machine, the right extractor, and the right bond — whether you buy, rent, or just want a straight answer.
