Concrete Coating FAQs
What is the difference between a densifier and a sealer?
A densifier soaks into the concrete and reacts with it to make the surface harder and less dusty; there is no film to wear or peel. A sealer forms a film on top that protects against stains and water and usually adds sheen. Many floors get both: densify first, then seal or polish.
Can I seal brand-new concrete?
Use a cure-and-seal such as Diamond Clear VOX or a curing compound such as Aqua-Cure VOX right after finishing. Decorative acrylic and urethane sealers go on after the slab has cured, typically 28 days.
Do you stock Euclid Chemical and Multicoat in Corona?
Yes. We carry 26 Euclid and 36 Multicoat products at our Corona, CA warehouse. Most are available for same-day pickup, and anything we are out of can usually be in within a few days.
Can I put an overlay over cracked concrete?
Yes, if the slab is sound. Repair moving cracks with a polyurea such as Euco QWIKstitch, patch spalls, then apply the overlay system. Bring photos of the cracks and we will tell you whether an overlay or a replacement makes sense.
What do you recommend for a pool deck?
For waterproofing and a cooler, slip-resistant surface, Mulasticoat over a Krete Kote or Scratch Kote base. For a stamped or textured deck that just needs protecting, a Multicoat acrylic sealer with a slip additive. See our pool deck coatings page for the full systems.
