About this project

Tiled restroom, shower and locker rooms

Restrooms and shower rooms are the hardest floors in a commercial building: constant water, cleaning chemicals, and traffic from the moment the doors open. These rooms were taken from bare concrete to a finished flake system with the cove base installed as part of the floor, not a separate trim, so there is no grout line or seam at the wall for water to get behind.

The full-broadcast flake gives the floor a slip-resistant texture that still mops clean, and the clear topcoat seals the whole system against standing water. Every room in the set was coated in the same blend so the facility reads as one finish from the corridor through to the showers.
