About this project

Backyard pool deck and outdoor living area

Instead of tearing out the existing slab, the deck was resurfaced with a decorative overlay and scored into a tile layout that runs through the pool surround, the spa step and the covered outdoor living area. The light grey finish stays cooler underfoot than dark concrete and gives the whole yard one consistent look.

Overlays like this go down in days, not weeks, and cost a fraction of a new deck. The surface is sealed for slip resistance around the water.
